PIDX is API's Committee on Electronic Business, chartered jointly by API's Information Management and Technology and API's Finance Programs. 

For over twenty years now, oil companies, their customers, suppliers and other business partners have collaborated on scores of projects that have reengineered entire business processes and operations for greater efficiency and profitability in the oil and natural gas industry. Efficiencies that have been realized through the implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and emerging Electronic Business technologies such as the Internet and eXtensible Markup Language (XML).
