Chris Welsh - PIDX Board Member

OFS Portal, President and CEO

After a strong career in the UK defense industry, Chris joined Baker Hughes in 1995 where he was a senior member of the marketing team at the company’s headquarters in Houston, defining and implementing a global B2B strategy. Within his responsibilities, he worked with OFS Portal and was Vice Chair of PIDX, the industry’s eCommerce standards body.

In 2006, he was a co-founder of what became ACT Global Consulting, a firm which directly helps oil and gas companies become eCommerce capable by implementing best practices.  He has over 30 years of Information Technology, eCommerce and Consulting experience managing numerous global projects for operators, services companies and eCommerce platforms across the globe.  

Chris is past-Chair of PIDX Europe and he holds a Masters degree in Computing from the Open University in the UK.  He is a keen rock climber and Ducati super-bike enthusiast.

Amy Absher

Amy Absher - PIDX Board Member

Chevron Information Technology Company, General Manager, Technology, Strategy & Services

As general manager for the Technology, Strategy & Services (TSS) organization of Chevron’s Information Technology Company (ITC), Amy Absher is responsible for strategic research, and enterprise architecture for information technology assets, while ensuring that the critical planning and management processes for IT are in place. She is accountable for IT strategy and planning, organizational design and capability management, portfolio management, communications, supplier management, and operational excellence

Prior to her current role, Absher was manager of Application Operations in the Process, Applications & Data Assets organization of ITC, where she was responsible for 24×7 operational support for Enterprise Resource Planning solutions and more than 1,000 of Chevron’s business applications supporting a global user base of more than 40,000 employees.

Absher’s additional leadership positions at Chevron include Chief Information Officer for Global Supply & Trading, where she was responsible for IT strategy, project management, compliance activities, as well as all application development and support needs, and general manager of Chevron’s Global Aviation Americas Region, where she had oversight for safe and profitable fuel supply operations.

A native of Oklahoma, Absher earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1985 and joined Chevron that same year as an auditor in the company’s international auditing department. She is a member of Chevron’s IT Function Leadership Team, and the IT Extended Management Team. She is a member of the IVI, PIDX and Intel Board of Advisors. She is also a board member with the Houston Aids Foundation.

 

Andrew Mercer - PIDX Board Member

BP, Vice President, Global Projects – Information Technology and Services

Andrew Mercer is currently Vice President for Information Technology and Services (IT&S) for BP’s Global Projects. In this role, Andrew is accountable for the strategy, execution, and delivery of all IT&S services to the Global Projects Organisation, in both the major projects and the global function.

Andrew has held various leadership roles in BP including Head of Architecture & Design in Business Functions, Solutions Director for the Upstream Backbone business transformation programme and Chief Architect in Procurement & Supply Chain Management.

Outside of this role Andrew is an active advocate of BP’s process management agenda serving as a member of the enterprise process governance council.

Prior to joining BP in 2006, Andrew was a member of the IT management team at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) responsible for Corporate functions, having served previously as CIO at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals UK prior to the formation of GSK.

Andrew graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1985 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science.

Mary Rose Martinez - PIDX Board Member

Halliburton, Information Technology Director, Division and Project Services

Mary Rose Martinez is the Information Technology (IT) Director of Division and Project Services for Halliburton, and a member of Halliburton’s IT Leadership Team. In this role, she is accountable for IT services to Halliburton’s global business lines including IT investment management, strategic alignment, demand management, and relationship management. She is also accountable for global IT project services including program and project management, business analysis, organizational change management, and responsibility over the IT program management office.

With over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Mary Rose has held various leadership and strategic development roles across information technology, marketing, and software research and development. She is a graduate of Halliburton’s President’s Leadership Excellence Program, a yearlong leadership development program in which a select group of high-potential senior managers, directors, and first-time executives participates each year.

Mary Rose holds a bachelor degree in both computer science and mathematics from the University of St. Thomas, and a master of computer science degree from Rice University. She is also a certified Project Management Professional. 

Terry Thomas - PIDX Board Member

Schlumberger, eCommerce Manager

As the Schlumberger eCommerce Manager, Terry Thomas is responsible for the development and implementation of Schlumberger global sell side eCommerce strategies. This includes responding to all projects and customer initiatives related to electronic interactions (e.g. Reverse Auctions, Online Bidding, e-Sourcing, electronic invoicing) with Schlumberger customers. This included consulting with Schlumberger Areas, Geomarkets, Segments and Global Account directors and operations identifying and responding to eCommerce activities.

As the Schlumberger member representative to the Oilfield Suppliers (OFS) Portal, Terry Thomas, promotes improved efficiencies and mutually beneficial cost effective processes and standards to enable seamless system-to-system data exchange within the Upstream Oil & Gas industry. This includes ensuring eCommerce terms and conditions regarding data security, ownership, usage and confidentiality.
